Christian Smith
Indecent Exposure
Reviewed by:R_EXile
Rating:8/10

After deploying it in his stellar compilation album Platform on Renaissance, Swedish techno legend Christian Smith has released his quality production Indecent Exposure in the form of a two-tracker on his very own Tronic imprint.

Smith is world-renowned for his capability to explore the boundaries between house and techno, and there is no exception in this EP. Whilst the heavy beats and rolling bassline of the original mix capture the bounciness of house music, the track also possesses the neatness of techno. It does not have a very complex structure, but as it progresses, the chemistry between the melodies and rhythm keeps building up the tension – it just continues to roll and grow smoothly and there is not any dead spot in the track at all.

The Low Bass Mix then tunes down the big-room feeling a bit, but it still carries a great deal of momentum and tension whilst it progresses smoothly. And just like the original mix, it has a crowd-favoured breakdown that will undoubtedly create another hands-in-the-air moment.

Sophisticatedly crafted, this EP sees Christian Smith continue with his top form since his glorious return to the scene in 2008. One thing that could have made this EP even better would be an extra quality remix that would give more variety to the EP, although it is top-class already.
